Mountain Magic

Include the Drakensburg Mountains and a Zulu battlefield tour. After visiting the rustic Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, we’ll do an overnight in the ‘Frontier country’ of the Eastern Cape before heading South via Addo Elephant Park and then along the magnificent coastal section of the Garden Route to Cape Town, the Mother City, my home!

In Vino Veritas

The red wines of Franschoek are my favourite. Being your tour leader and driver means that I can only enjoy a glass or two over dinner with you. It is worth the wait! For Beer lovers, we have great local beers too. Try Mitchell’s on the deck at Plettenberg Bay or in Knysna itself where it is brewed. We can incorporate cellar tours and Brandy tours or wine tastings with CHOCOLATE. Whatever takes your fancy.

Perhaps my favourite guest experience is to enjoy a superb Cape wine with a fine meal. Several small speciality places have recognized this and offer food and wine pairings, selected by master chefs. Women seem to be taking a lead in Viticulture whilst men are retaining their strengths in the kitchens. Only my opinion mind you!

Nothing Cheesy about the Cheese

Come test it out with me on tour! Olive and cheese production in the Cape are of a high quality and often incorporated in the informal wine tastings.

At Land’s End

Day tour to Cape Point, the South Western-most point of Africa. It has been given various names: The Cape of Storms, King of Portugal, Cape of Good Hope or as Sir Francis Drake called it ‘The fairest Cape of them all,’ reflecting the balmy weather conditions on his arrival. We take a 20 minute walk or a funicular ride up to the old lighthouse which at 19 million candlepower was at one time the most powerful in the world.

The rugged natural beauty of this part of the Table Mountain National Park is truly breathtaking. For those who like to meander, there are quiet spots to relax, and shipwreck views in the marine portion of the Park. Don’t miss the learning experience of the Educational Center at ‘Bordjiesdrift.’ Ask Ted about Whalebone corsets!

Scenic Drive

We also visit the African Penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Kalk Bay, a charming little fishing harbour on the False bay coast, a haven for artists and sun-lovers, is a great stop for browsing and shopping in a myriad of eclectic stores.

On the return journey to Cape Town there is an optional visit to Kirstenbosch our magnificent botanical gardens.

Late afternoon return to your hotel tired, satisfied but perhaps hungry enough to sample some delicious Cape Malay cuisine tonight? This is a FULL day’s tour.

From the graceful Lions at Sabi Sabi Game Reserve to the Table Mountain Disa flower to the newly born elephant at Chobe Game Lodge, or the Sunset over Sea Point, Africa is majestic, colourful and awakens something in most of us - ‘a desire to return.’
