Letters and Reviews from previous tours
Dear Ted,
We are still trying to digest all of the wonderful sights, sounds and experiences from our trip to South Africa. We could not have had a better beginning than connecting with you and benefiting from your insights and expertise. It really was like a friend showing us his hometown. We genuinely do extend our invitation to you and your wife to come visit our city. Between Lynn, Bruce and ourselves we can give you the NYC / Brooklyn / Hamptons whirlwind tour. There’s room for you to stay and the only requirement is that you make us some bobotie!
P.S. Joel says leave the biltong at home!

Hi Ted,
Thanks for wonderfull tours this weekend with the Indian delegation. Not only was the history interresting, also your views on education and leadership and followership. Please send me the list of books and DVD’s re South African history.

I have been remiss in not writing sooner and still am in a rush. The balance of our trip was awesome and what a start we had with you - only
wish we had more time in Capetown. Bruce and I want to thank you for all you did for us and I wrote The company about how special you are! I would love to keep in touch and hope to be back next year with female friends for at least a week.
Please let us know about the education program and what we might be able to do.

“Dear Ted
My wife Bansri and I would like to thank you very much for all your kind help and for your wonderful company. We enjoyed our stay in Cape Town and we really look forward to coming there again. I don’t think we are likely to come in January, but I know that we will visit again and again.
I would like to wish you all the best in your new career and looking forward to staying in touch.”
“Recently I visited South Africa and hired Topnotchtours to take me on tours of Cape Town, The Cape of Good Hope and the surrounding areas. Ted Weber, the owner and tour guide had been highly recommended by an acquaintance of mine. It did not take me long to realize how fortunate I was to have hired Ted Weber: He was courteous, his driving was safe and considerate and his pace was perfect for me. He was sensitive to my needs and when I asked questions regarding the country and its politics he was knowledgeable and insightful. I appreciated his balanced views and opinions. In fact I learned a great deal on his tours - not only about the social, political and economic conditions of the country but also about its fauna and flora. Regarding the cost of his tours, I felt he was very reasonable considering the amount of time he devoted to the itinerary Ted Weber is an exemplary tour guide.”

“Hallo Ted,
wir hatten vom 11. - 30.
beantwortet.
Erinnerung behalten.
Es bedanken sich sehr herzlich”
Sharon,
We’ve now been back from SA for a few weeks and I have finally found a few moments to write you. First let me thank you for assisting us in planning our SABI SABI itinerary. It was an amazing experience. Being in the hotel business, I was particularly impressed with the quality of accommodation and the service. One of the very best experiences we have had in our travels and we hope that we can one day return. It would be very easy to get addicted to the bush.
I also wanted to thank you for the introduction to Ted Weber. Ted provided us with exceptional attention and organized a very interesting and comprehensive tour of the Cape Town area and Garden Route. He is extremely knowledgeable and we got a great sense of the history of the country and the current issues that they face, as well as experiencing a township tour, Robben Island, District 6 as well as the contrast of Stellenbosch and Franshoek, Plettenberg Bay and the Heads of Knysna.
I can say that we have a good sense of your country and the experience will be with us for a long time.
I have no hesitancy in recommending Ted as a guide and thank you again for the suggestion. In a country that faces many challenges, it is good to have someone who knows the terrain and can be accommodating to our ever changing itinerary.
Thank you again.

Dear Ted,
As promised, I did write to my/our travel agent (whose card you have) about our trip. I have attached a copy of my note to her wherein I describe our lovely experience with you. I hope something comes of it; Sylvie is a good lady to know in the travel business. And she knows I don’t write raves unless they are well-deserved.
I want also to thank you for all the recommendations you made to us and the care you took of us, especially of Mary who was fairly frail that first day. You were a large part of what made our Cape Town visit so memorable. When we planned to stay for a couple of days after the end of the ship trip, the rationale was that we’d probably never go back, it was then or never. Well, I was wrong. I’ll be back. I was utterly captivated by it.
Again, my thanks to you and
best wishes,
Alison Martin

Now about our guide:
His name is Ted Weber, and he was born in South Africa, but emigrated to the UK and to Vancouver for several years in the wake of the political upheavals and the changes in the world textile industry which had been his family’s business before emigrating. Not only did he talk about the places we were seeing, but he gave us an enlightening overview of the history of South Africa and all of Africa. He spoke with complete candor and with a depth of knowledge which made me feel fortunate that we had found him. I’m guessing he’s about my age. He and his wife moved back to South Africa about 10 years ago; two of his children remain in Vancouver. He speaks German. All this by way of saying that I think you and VWT/Virtuoso should know about him and we all would recommend him enthusiastically to you and your clients. I gave him your card. I don’t think you could put your clients - even the fussy ones - in better hands.
